We are the School of Kapwa

Kapwa - From the Tagalog language of the Philippines meaning unity of self and others

Our Mission

We aim to deeply connect with ourselves through our heritage, traditions, and ancestral wisdom. Reviving our culture, land and communities.

To engage in meaningful conversations with communities in the UK, throughout the diaspora and in our motherland the Philippines. Re-integrating innate wisdom that might otherwise be lost.

Acting as ambassadors and nurturing bridges, we hope to unite a fragmented and imbalanced history to help restore meaning and wholeness within our communities. To heal from the wounds of displacement and the loss of our cherished traditions, beliefs, culture, language, knowledge, and stories. And to grieve what our ancestors could not.

We are devoted to sharing and celebrating our culture as it becomes fully integrated within our hearts and souls today, nurturing unity and empowerment for a brighter future.

Where our people become deeply connected to their heritage, traditions, and ancestral wisdom once again. Creating a vibrant revival of culture, land, and a profound sense of belonging.

Who We Are

“We are a community of individuals, embarking on a journey to reclaim and remember our authentic selves by integrating the wisdom of our ancestral traditions in our daily lives.

We act with a profound sense of responsibility, not only for our own well-being but for the collective good.

We honour the deep interconnectedness and symbiosis of all life , recognizing that our actions resonate far beyond ourselves, touching both our inner worlds and the wider environment.

With this awareness, we strive to embody "Kapatiran"—community and siblinghood—and "Kapwa"—the unity of self and others.

We face our truths with honesty and integrity, devoted to continuous self-improvement and growth. We heed the evolving challenges and needs of our world, driven by our role as the new ancestors, alchemising the wounds of our past into something beautiful”
